Short Bio
I am a Post-doctoral Research Officer at LSE’s Grantham Research Institute (GRI) and Center for Climate Change Economics and Policy (CCCEP). I also teach Applied Econometrics and supervise graduate students at LSE’s Department of Geography & the Environment.
I am an applied microeconomist with primary research focus in environmental, natural resource and development economics. I apply econometrics and applied microeconomic theory to problems in agriculture, sustainable development, transboundary negotiations, climate change, private sector & household adaptation and marine resources.
At GRI, I primarily contribute to the project "Pathways to Resilience in Semi-arid Economies (PRISE)", which aims to promote inclusive climate resilient development in several African and Asian countries.
I have a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Wyoming, an MA in Economics from Carleton University, and BSS (Honors) and MSS in Economics from the University of Dhaka.

Personal
I grew up in Mojir Khil, a village three hours south of Dhaka in Bangladesh, but now call The Mountains my home (or second home). I enjoy driving, cricket, soccer and, obviously, Pink Floyd (listen to this instrumental by PF!).
When I don't work or drive, I usually spend the time with my family - Dilruba, Auritra (9) and Noura (3). Dilruba and I also volunteer for children with special needs.
